We're not perfect, but together we're making a difference.
Non animal-based natural materials
The finishes and furnishings are vegan - no animal ingredients and not tested on animals (e.g., no adhesives based on animal bones, no wool-blend fabrics or waxes based on beeswax). We tried to verify everything.
Furniture made from recycled, ecological elements
We used recycled or recyclable materials. We searched for solutions with certifications related to environmental protection, ecology and veganism. We looked for reducing CO2 emissions (e.g., furnishings, finishes produced by factories that care about low CO2 emissions).
Local design
We used local materials and products whenever possible. We appreciate the value of local and strive to reduce the transportation route.
Each year, we calculate Plantonia’s carbon footprint, work to reduce emissions at source, and offset the remaining emissions through carefully selected, certified climate projects.
SUMIDERO MONTE BACHAO, SPAIN
This project focuses on restoring and reforesting degraded woodland in Spain. By bringing the forest back to life, it enables the area to become an active carbon sink once again. The project also supports local biodiversity and strengthens the landscape’s resilience to the effects of climate change.REDD+ BRAZIL NUT CONCESSIONS, MADRE DE DIOS, PERU
This REDD+ project protects forests within concessions used for the sustainable harvesting of Brazil nuts in the Peruvian Amazon. It reduces deforestation, prevents CO₂ emissions and supports responsible forest management in cooperation with local communities. It also helps safeguard the exceptional biodiversity of one of the world’s most vulnerable rainforest ecosystems.BOSQUE ETXARRI, SPAIN
The project aimed to restore the gallery forest near the Arga River, which was destroyed by a wildfire in 2022. Reforestation activities contributed to rebuilding the local ecosystem, increasing biodiversity and removing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. They also supported the area’s adaptation to the advancing effects of climate change.CLEAN WATER PROJECT, RWANDA
The project improved local communities’ access to safe water through the construction of wells and water treatment. Reducing the need to boil water over wood-burning fires helped lower wood consumption, protect local forests and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The initiative also contributed to improving water quality, sanitation and residents’ everyday living conditions. We have received Green Key certificate from Polish Foundation for Environmental Education – FDEE. The Green Key certificate is the leading standard for excellence in the field of environmental responsibility and sustainable operation within the tourism industry.
We have created a place that tries to be friendly, do little harm to the planet and use as much plant materials as possible. We believe that every sustainable decision makes sense.
We want to show that eco-vegan place is not only the least possible harm to the environment, but also style and comfort. The atmosphere of the space is very important to us. We love things that are beautifully designed and that are fun to use. We support Polish designers.
An aparthotel combines the best aspects of living in an apartment and staying in a hotel. On the one hand, freedom, on the other, the opportunity to enjoy professional service. Plants are an important part of our apartments, with them the space is more alive.
Sometimes we do not even know that a material or ingredient is of animal origin. The best examples are adhesives and impregnants in everyday items, in beds or chairs. A vegan place is all about checking everything and choosing things that have been created with respect for living beings.
